Claudia M. Gonzalez MS. RD. LDN, is a well-regarded expert in the field on nutrition and dietetics. She is a resident of Miami and a Graduate of Florida International University with a Bachelors Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition and a Masters Degree in Communications.
Claudia is the co-author of Gordito, Doesn’t Mean Healthy, Penguin 2006, the first book of its kind, offering information, strategies, and tools to prevent and manage obesity in the Hispanic children. Her book won the prestigious “2007 Best Health Book” from the “International Latino Book Award”.
She is a consultant dietitian with the elderly, children, physician’s offices, weight loss centers, and with the food industry in the United States.
Claudia has a weekly nutrition segment on the show “Agarrése Quien Pueda”, America TeVe and Actualidad 1020 AM, Miami. She also was the nutrition talent on “Mi Bebé” on Mundo Fox’s sister cable channel Utilísima, which was seen in the United States and Latin American. She also shares her nutritional expertise as a frequent guest on national television shows such as “Despierta América”, “Aquí y Ahora”, “Primer Impacto”, “Sábado Gigante”, “Arrebatados”, CNN en Español, as well as the local and national news.
Claudia is also a a writer on health and nutrition issues for several magazines and blogs (current and past) including Univision Online, Shape en Español, Healthy Kids en Español, Ser Padres, Mimos Blog, Ana Maria Polo.net, Codeco Nutrilife, Siempre Mujer, 12 Meses and Bodas USA.
Claudia has served as a Nutrition Consultant for U.S. Businesses at International Food Shows around the World and she served as a Spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association for six years (1999-2005).
